The plugin doesn't appear in your DAW

SELANCE installs as VST3, Audio Unit and AAX. On macOS, the bundles live in ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components and ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3; on Windows, the VST3 goes to the standard folder, C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. After installing, rescan plugins or restart your DAW — most hosts cache the plugin list.

The plugin loads but there's no sound

SELANCE is an effect — it processes what runs through it and never generates signal on its own. If the standalone app shows empty meters and a quiet graph, that's expected: it needs audio coming in from the host to have anything to measure.

Suggest EQ shows nothing

A suggestion needs something to measure against a target. The usual causes: no target selected (None), the section was never played, or no new audio since the last measurement. Choose a target, play the part, and press Suggest EQ again. If a proposal is already on screen, Apply or Discard it first.

My sections saved, but the waveform is empty after reopening

Expected behavior. The plugin only ever sees what plays in real time. Section markers — the names and time ranges — persist, but the waveform and per-section averages rebuild as the playhead passes each part again.

Section Automation and host automation don't get along

Section Automation writes the EQ itself. If you also automate the same bands from the DAW while it is on, Section Automation wins and your automation won't be audible. On the same bands, use one or the other.

Solo, Delta or Mono appear in the final bounce

These are listening modes. Depending on the host, they can be captured into an offline render, so turn them off before bouncing. Auto Gain and Blend are real processing — they are always part of the signal.

Undo and Redo don't respond

SELANCE has its own internal history that needs keyboard focus on the plugin window. Some DAWs intercept Cmd+Z and Cmd+Shift+Z before they reach the plugin — use the Undo and Redo buttons in the header instead.

A reference captured in SELANCE Capture doesn't appear

The plugin reads its library from ~/Library/Templephonics/SELANCE/references.json and reloads automatically when the file changes. If a new curve is missing, make sure the Capture app is writing to the same location, then give the plugin a moment to refresh.

SELANCE uses a lot of CPU

It's sample-accurate real-time processing, and dynamic EQ on several bands costs more. If the session struggles, run fewer dynamic bands at once and avoid stacking many instances on one channel.

The Electronic genre curve is marked provisional

It's a work in progress. Rock is built from a real calibrated reference library; Electronic is provisional and will be refined before launch, so treat it as a starting point rather than a finished target.
